OMEP Australia is one of over 70 affiliates worldwide committed to advocating for the rights of children between birth and 8 years of age – particularly for their right to access high quality early childhood education and care. OMEP urges local, state, regional, and international decision-makers to invest in Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC).
Each year OMEP holds a World Assembly and Conference. The 2020 Assembly and Conference will be held in Athens, 13-17 July.
At the World Assembly, OMEP makes world declarations.
The 2019 Declaration urges us to renew our commitment to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
In addition, every two years the OMEP Asia Pacific Region holds a conference. The most recent (2019) conference was held in Kyoto, Japan. The next will be held in Hangzhou, China from April 18 – 20, 2021.
